Music theory helps in understanding the structure and framework, there by giving the learner a solid foundation. It enhances the knowledge pertaining to music notes to a different level and enables the learner to have a broad perspective of several key elements in it.
Starting with the simplest of things like note, beat, melody, and harmony, it stretches to a much detailed study. It strengthens the practical (instrument) learning by providing a deep insight into various aspects of music. Studying theory of music will augment the student’s abilities in other areas like sight reading, composition, music arrangement, etc.
